  • Freeze Marked
I am planning on getting Oliver freeze marked and it is obviously cheaper the more horses you do at one visit. There has been a spate of horse theft in Somerset and freeze marking is very visible (you can get signs for gates and patches for rugs during the winter when the mark is covered up). When I was at the yard a couple of weeks ago a van slowed right down outside Oliver’s field and the man inside was having a good look at the horses. It has made me realise how devastating it would be to go up and find him gone. If anyone else would like their horse freeze marked, please let me know by the end of October and let me have a £5 deposit to book a place. I will then book a visit at Adscombe Farm where Oliver is kept.

Winning 1'9 Team: Millie Druitt, Charlotte Kenny, Harriet Tutt and Amy from Polden Hills.

Member of Quantock Pony Club who came 1st in the 2'/2'3 class at West Somerset Pony Club's team showjumping at Stockland Lovell on 1st June. Charlotte Kenny (Jigsaw), Kerrie Bloxham (Duke), Lauren Massey (Chianti) and Jade Coles (Hovis).

Katie Gibbs on her way to coming 2nd in the 3'/3'3 class. Katie was the only Quantock Member to enter this class and was in 1st place right until the last minute. Four clears went forward into the jump off, Katie jumped first and took a pole over the stile, the next two riders also took a pole, so it all hinged on the final rider who went for a slow, steady clear and it paid off!

Our team in the 2'6/2'9 - Lucy Barker, Katie Gibbs, Daisy Williams and Jess Mortimer came 3rd.
