Horse Passports

As you will be aware by now, your horse or pony should have it’s own passport.  We, as a committee, are here to advise and remind you of the law regarding passports.

It has been drawn to our attention that whenever you transport your horse or pony you MUST have their passport with you. We will be doing spot checks from time to time to encourage you to carry passports with you.

If you were stopped by the police and didn’t have your animals passports with you, it may result in a fine.

Vaccinations

Both camps this year are at Stockland Lovell and this is to remind you that vaccinations MUST be up to date if you pony is staying overnight.  Vaccinations are a good idea anyway and there is still time to get the ball rolling.  Ponies must have at least the first two to stay at camp.  Stockland Lovell may do spot checks and it would be a shame if you were sent home!

The Pony Club Rule Books

It is a good idea, if you are competing at any level and in any discipline within the Pony Club, to have a copy of the Rule Books.

They have up to date regulations, dressage tests, etc. so are very useful to have and may save hours of preparation being wasted if you are then disqualified at an event for the wrong tack, etc.

Because they are updated regularly, a new issue is produced each year.  Luckily they only cost £2 and can be purchased via the Pony Club website (www.pcuk.org, then go to ‘The Shop’, then to the ‘Rule Books’).

Treasurer’s Report

2005 was another successful year financially for Quantock Pony Club.  The committee again worked very hard and raised the very substantial sum of £5,303 from various fundraising events.  Another £1,696 was raised from members subscriptions, giving a total net income of approximately £7,000.

£1,500 was spent subsidising summer camps, £2,344 was spent subsidising rallies and £548 was spent subsidising competition entry fees.  £2,316 was spent on new equipment which included new show jumps, a smaller equipment trailer, a set of games equipment and a set of radios for use at camps and other events.

The club ended 2005 with net assets of £5,681.

The committee recently agreed to use some of these assets to purchase an annual schooling pass from Stockland Lovell at a cost of £1,000.  This gives the club free access to the schooling arenas and cross country course for rallies and team training sessions throughout 2006.
