Quantock Pony Club Newsletter

September 2005

Welcome to the Autumn newsletter. We hope you all had an enjoyable and successful summer. You will be pleased to hear that rallies will continue to be subsidised by the Pony Club and therefore the cost will remain at £5.00 per rally which we feel represents very good value for money. You will see that we have included a couple of 'for sale' advertisements in this newsletter so if you have anything you would like advertised in the next newsletter, please contact Lorraine Woodley. This is 'your' newsletter so please feel tree to use it.

This year the inter-branch team event was combined with the Taunton Vale Hunt Horse Show at Pontispool on 16 July. We again had a total of three teams entered, one in each class.

In the first class, 11 years and under, we had Henry Coate, Amelia Daniel, Emma Perry and Laura Kyd, with Amelia riding a double clear.

In the junior 14 years and under we had Eleanor Daniel, Rachel Webber, Lucy Courtney and Rachel Kyd, with Eleanor riding a double clear and the team being placed 5th.

In the senior open class we had Zoe Gray, Jamie Courtney, Nicola Perry and Lucy Courtney, with Lucy jumping the biggest course she had ever attempted. They were 3rd as a team, with Zoe Gray gaining 4th individually.

Well done to all those who took part, especially Lucy who rode extremely well.

We had one mini team in Class 1, 11 years and under (Abi Porter, Alex Galbraith, Amelia Daniels and Lucy Courtney). This was a three round competition and after two rounds of double clears by Quantock they went into the third round tying on 1st place with four other teams. The third round was times and over a shorter course and all four team members rode extremely well to take 2nd place.
